SOFIJA GRGUR, organist


She was born in 1983 in Sarajevo. She finished the piano, theoretical and organ department in music secondary schools “Mokranjac” and “Stankovic” in Belgrade.

Since 2003, she has been studying organ playing at the FMA in Belgrade, first in Professor Andrija Galun’s, and then in Professor Maja Smiljanic Radic’s class. She is now at her senior year. She won many awards in the category of solo and chamber music in our country and abroad. Since 2005, she is a scholar of Austrian Baroque Academy.

Since 2003, she has attended several master and specialist organ-playing courses in the country and abroad: Luxemburg, Germany, France, Slovenia, USA, Austria… She initiated a number of student concert activities in Belgrade (Handle’s organ concerts, the jubilees of Mozart and Buxtehude etc.). She is an active participant of the Festival of the organ-playing “Dies Organorum”, as well as the Festival of the harpsichord in Belgrade.

Since 2005, she is the organist and a member of Vocal Ensemble “Oktoih”. With “Oktoih”, she is an active participant in the solemn services of Belgrade Archbishopric, as well as in the concerts in our country and abroad.
