JELENA BUBULJ, DIRIGENT-ASISTENT


She was born in Belgrade in 1983. She finished music secondary school “Stankovic”- the piano and theoretical department. In 2007, she graduated from the FMA in Belgrade, in Professor Stanko Sepic’s class. She received EFG bank scholarship given to the best students in Serbia. She took part in republic competitions of music secondary schools and won the third prize in the piano trio category (2001) and the first prize in the piano and fagot duo category (2002). During her studies at the FMA, she successfully cooperated with the Faculty orchestra, as well as with students of solo singing. Since January, 2001, she has worked as an assistant conductor in the Serbian-Jewish choir “Baruch Brothers”, in Belgrade. In September 2003, upon the invitation of maestro Spasic, she became the assistant conductor of Vocal Ensemble “Oktoih”. With “Oktoih”, she performed both in the country and abroad: Pesaro (Italy), Nuoro (Sardinia), Miskolc (Hungary), Ankara (Turkey), with a special emphasis on her conducting performances in 2005, at the “Choirs among Frescoes” festival and at the Festival in Olbia (Sardinia). In August, 2005, she attended the International conducting course in Vienna, in Professor Mark Stringer’s class. Since September, 2006, she cooperated with “Belgrade Madrigalists” choir, as an assistant conductor, and then as a part-time conductor of that choir. She is now working in music secondary school “Stankovic” as a teacher of conducting, choir and orchestra score playing.
